Hare Krishna Maha Mantra - Prabhu
My eldest son tried to apply to be a Jesuit priest. He attended a meeting at the Loyola House of Studies which served as a preliminary screening and orientation. The head of the welcoming panel wasted no time and shocked the whole room by declaring that the Jesuits didn’t believe that the devil existed anymore. My son retreated out of the place with his tail between his legs and blurted to me in panic upon reaching home, “Dad the anti-Christ have penetrated Ateneo de Manila University!”
I told my son it smelled like one of those shrewd Jesuit psychological ploys to unmask infiltrators. If one agreed that that Satan was no more, such could be a telltale clue of his true leaning. If one kept quiet and let it pass without challenge that could be interpreted as something that detracts from his qualifications to be a priest. If one stood up and disputed the incongruity and the fallacy of such an arbitrary pronouncement and much more protested the baiting tactics of the organizers, then such an aspirant could be deemed worthy of the calling to the priesthood.
The important point however that crawls out of the opened can of worms is really if Hitler has been forgiven for the abysmal horror of the genocide in the Holocaust. Adolf has been burning in the fires of hell for more than sixty years. Can his eternal damnation be commuted to time served if he truly repented for his unspeakable transgressions and loved the Almighty Father God with all his heart by glorifying His Name and asking for clemency? Of course, sixty years of toasting in sizzling flames can’t make up for the inhuman atrocities he had wrought. However the Father God is not a God of vengeance but a God of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation.
So what the head of the moderators propounded could very well be true. Maybe there is no more hell because all the condemned inmates repented and glorified God. Then you’d probably say what of the victims who deserve some justice. It’s true they were so blatantly and violently wrenched from their material forms which got butchered, gassed or incinerated. It’s very true that they were deprived so callously of their very basic human rights. However, they are now redeemed spirits united with the Father God in His domain and fulfilled in their mission to return to the love and nurturing of the Creator.
The traditional Krishnas believe there is only one sin. That is the sin of hatred and injustice done to a fellow human being. All other indiscretions of the flesh could be exculpated by penance and chanting of the Maha Mantras in meditation to glorify the Almighty Father God. The punishment for those who violate and trample the rights and well being of their fellow men is to be drawn farther away from ascending to a higher level of existence bordering on the spiritual plane. Going back and being marooned in this dimension in a lesser creature form follow the laws of karmic balance and Hitler could have been reborn as a despicable cockroach to be stamped out by foot.
The best gauge of morality and righteousness is the love taught by the Almighty Father God in heaven, the Abba Krishna, the One and the Same God of all faiths and religions springing from the flowering of cultures thru many different civilizations. Human nature should not be condemned for the inborn selfishness to seek and enjoy pleasure and wealth. Such inherent and intrinsic drives should be tapped as the energy to propel mankind to great achievement and excellence. The crucial element is to temper the human aspirations, inclinations and ambitions with love and justice for each other so that as one genus we could advance forward in the quest for scientific and creative knowledge to attain perfection to conquer the galaxies beyond.
Look at Japan which has advanced as the second biggest economy in the world. They did so from the bombed out ruins of the last world war as a defeated and shackled nation. A cohesion from binding collectivization of spirit and resolve as a people made them rise from bended knees to the top of the world economic order. Prime Ministers, one after the other, offer ‘mea culpa’ for some exposed corruption or other then resign to give way to a successor from the same ruling majority party, the LDP that controls parliament. This is not to offer apologetics for corruption but in a one world unity the adage of one for you and two for me for being in the majority works better than contentious bickering because each sector gets a percentage share of the spoils.
The Indians and the Chinese are not as squeaky clean as Caesar’s wife. In the Orient it’s accepted or politely ignored that wealthy and powerful men maintain concubines hidden in the wings of their private affairs. The ideal set-up is that the legal wife gets taken cared of in a very comfortable manner and the mistresses likewise get support that keep them happy and secure. The funny thing about America is that governors and senators with the promising talent to rise to be strong leaders in the political field get humiliated and ruined because of extramarital indiscretions while gay marriages are legalized all over the place. There seems to be a conspiracy to cut off the balls of American males so that they can be weakened and lose their dynamism to electrify America back to the road of world leadership.
Wealth is health and women are made to be loved and put on a pedestal. The most important rule of faith is love of fellow men springing from the practice of loving the Almighty Father God in heaven, the Abba Krishna. Don’t let the pleasure and the opulence rob you from thinking straight and sharing love. We are our brother’s keeper and just like the way of the collective instincts of the Japanese we should harness human tendencies to corruption and self aggrandizement to allocate a proper share for our brethren to use to overcome the miseries of famine and disease. We in the end all benefit because as one world and united humanity we inevitably scale loftier heights which is the destiny of our kind in godliness to be vessels of the One True God made in His Own Image to conquer space.
