The words are utterances in reverence of God. Calling out His Name and acknowledging His Almighty Presence in our daily lives pleases Him. The words have origins from ancient Sanskrit well before our Lord Jesus Christ. It is said that thousands of years before the birth of the Son of God in a manger in Galilee, God the Father made an earlier appearance in India as the Abba Krishna.
It is a little awkward to mutter Holy Almighty God the Father. It’s better to give Him a Holy Name that sounds personal and intimate. Abba Krishna is an apt common name that could be invoked in times of need just like an instant prayer. Chanting Hare Krishna Hare Rama which mean Christ the King, Heavenly King gives glory to God the Father. The short incantation is hummed like a mumbled supplication in our hearts that the Abba Krishna intervene for us in all our daily chores.
Our Lord Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary are the two most popular intercessors that we call upon everyday. Their presences in the Churches are very manifest and in fact many places of worship are named after them. It is only proper to give prominence to God the Father as the Supreme One in His First Identity or Person. Associating Him with a Name or a phrase that rings easily in the run of daily activities is very pleasing to the Father.
For example, if you feel threatened by a sign of danger, just say Abba Krishna help me in your heart or mind and you will feel safe. When you start doing something that is delicate or a bit challenging and you are unsure about the outcome, chant Hare Krishna Hare Rama like the way you would hum a pop tune and you will be assured of a favorable result. Don’t be shy to invoke the Abba Krishna as often as possible in you daily existence. He wants to be part of your life in a real uninterrupted way.
Don’t be worried that adapting the Name and tune of the Abba Krishna in your religious faith will be contrary to its teachings and dogma. Keep everything as they are and don’t change anything. Just add a familiar nickname for the Holy Almighty One as the Abba Krishna. Make Him your constant companion and best friend and refer to him with a term of endearment. Hum Hare Krishna Hare Rama and add nothing else or understand nothing more. Glorify His Presence in your life by welcoming Him into your heart and mind with an easy catch phrase and a familiar tune. Abba Krishna is the automatic friendly God Who is your ally and Who cares for you.
