Abba Krishna Havens U.S.A. And The Philippines Run Tight Race For The Garden Of Eden Crown

My wife, Mona Leveriza, never stopped blaming me for carting everyone back home to Manila from New York to build the permanent family roost. This after all our offspring graduated college at Ateneo and La Salle, the top universities in the country. Mona kept harping about the example of Chris Leveriza, the son of my younger brother, Raul, who earned his computer science degree from Georgetown University, which might indicate that we could have done just as well by our progeny if we had elected to stay.

I miss New York City most of all. It’s not really the slice of the heartland but Manhattan is uniquely American as much as bagel shines as a beacon to breakfast fanciers throughout the world. It’s more the crisp bacon with eggs not the beacon that belongs to mainstream Americana replete with scenes of cowboys huddled around prairie campfires. Steaming aromatic coffee in the frosty morns in any Yankee or Dixie parlance perks equally well with either the puffy doughnut or its crustier cousin.
















I would love to spend my elderly years around the Staten Island ferry to catch a daily glimpse of Lady Liberty over the Verrazano straits if only to marvel at the pristine air in a first world environment. Dining under the comforting aegis of the familiar lighted arc of the Brooklyn Bridge on either side of the Hudson, whether in a Mom and Pop cafe with home cooked pasta or an epicurean bistro with moonlighting waitresses in between off Broadway stints, would douse the senses with benign confetti from the sweet life.

Manila can’t be sidelined arbitrarily because it tugs at the heart too with its own warm and poignant endearments. Notwithstanding the third world exhaust fumes that hang like a brown smog dome everywhere you turn in the urban setting, and despite the crazy traffic that makes your well being roil, the immersion in such helter-skelter environs full of colorful merchandise and wiggling bodies makes the going fun in an underhanded but nostalgic way. Try squeezing into a tricycle built for pygmies with your hulking frame and you are halfway into the spirit of things.

Getting all tangled up with pretty young things in the narrowest confines or in shuffling crowds is only outshone by the widest array of delectable food that inveigles the palate. You get torn between romance and ogling against repast and dining pretty quickly and your head reels with the urgency to grab a niche of the fleeting scene to tame and claim as one of your own that should belong to your sleeve and pocket. Manila is a place that rampages and stampedes all over you with dizzying accoutrements of hawked goods, catchy street humors, clinging street urchins, and most of all, bewitching women.

American girls are fun and comely until they become ornery about equality. They seem very vigilant about exercising a litany of rights except the one to remain silent. Infatuation gets depressed fast when smothered with hands on, in your face, and no let up competition to be on top. That’s where they picked up this whole new concept of passive aggressive. Women in America tend to concede to men the right to wear the pants of ascendancy around the home or in a relationship only if the latter would delegate the driver’s seat to them, allow them to sit in the exec committee, or take an up to the minute consensus. That’s a covert way to want to run your life which is charming manipulating.

The pulchritude is to die for on both sides of the Pacific. American women have the edge just because of the existence of a supreme goddess presently living known to all as Megan Fox. The Abba Krishna went overboard with his artistry in shaping that one. The best the Philippines can pit against Megan’s mesmerizing allure would be Marian Rivera but she looks too goody two shoes that if you fell in love with her you would necessarily have to bring her home to Mama. With Megan, you throw caution to the wind and let your animal urges reign supreme like the big bad wolf salivating to huff and puff and blow the house down.





































































It’s a toss up between food and women. Who cares about anything else? Fill your mouth and purge your loins, that’s the way to live it. Until your dying day, Eros down below and gusto up above take turns spinning your wheel. That is precisely why the body is predictable and the going more tunneled. Punctuate the redundant cycles with meditation. Faith, hope, and love offer magical avenues and upward routes which are absent in physiological routines.
